In any case, carefully remove the supernatant of the proper care product with a soft cotton cloth. Then gently circle with a separate cotton cloth and polish without excessive pressure on gloss. Do not use linen cloth for the last two operations. This can superficially leave grooves and welts in the leather. Do not "revive" dry leather with water! This only ensures that the leather dries out or hardens during the drying process.
Mold growth and prevention
To avoid potential mold, the vintage leather strap should be completely dry before re-greasing. If so, it should be ruled out that a vintage leather bracelet develops mold infestation.
